Blog Post 1 Books from Childhood

Hello all! I hope you are all enjoying this crisp, cool weather! My name is Alicia Williamson. I am an avid reader. I clearly remember my journey to reading. It started off with some bumps. I had difficulty reading in the beginning. In the third grade, I had a wonderful teacher named Mrs. Delima. She saw my struggle and began to help me. Once the words on the page began to flow, Mrs. Delima introduced me to Beverly Cleary's Romona the Brave, Henry Huggins and Beezus and Romona . From Beverly Cleary, I moved onto the Nancy Drew series by Carolyn Keene, The Hardy Boys by Franklin W. Dixon and The Trixie Belden series by Julie Campbell. I couldn't get enough. I actually read the entire Nancy Drew series as well as the entire Trixie Belden series.
I moved onto longer books and reading parts of the newspaper. Reading is still my favorite hobby. I hope to bring other children to a love of reading like Mrs. Delima did for me.
